Hopeless abyss of misery and despair

That's what my eight hours at work was tonight. Just about everything that could go wrong, did. Our "early run," the pages that are supposed to be down to the presses by 7 p.m., didn't get down till (drum roll please) 11 p.m. Yes. The paper was three hours late. And we had to totally rebuild a section for Sunday's paper (part of which is run on Friday night as well...the part we had to rebuild. ARGH!). Needless to say, I am worn and weary.

Nothing new here, really. It was rainy all day. When I got home from work, I stood in the yard and smelled the mountains. The smell of wet pine trees and earth was so strong, I totally forgot that someone was getting a #2 Value Meal at Taco John's a hundred yards away. ;) We're all dying to get into the mountains and enjoy them--if only the weather would cooperate!
